70 YEARS OF GROWING AND CHANGING
1955 The beginning of a realization of the dream began. On February 21, 1955 the first meeting of a newly formed association was held. An executive was named and several bylaws were adopted.
Mr. Stuart Fraser was chosen as the first president and his hard work and dedication set the stage for those who were to follow. This Association was to become the governing body of the emerging school.

For our 60th anniversary in 2015, we produced a record of our history titled "60 Years of Growing and Changing" that you can download.
This year we went through thousands of historical pictures and posted twenty of them on our social media channels and on this page.
An important part of our community since 1955
Overcoming challenges is a recurring theme throughout our history. Our strength is in our compassion for others; it's what "fuels" us. When presented with a challenge, it pales in comparison to those faced by people with disabilities every day. As an organization we are very agile and resilient because we must be for those in our care.
