Residential options

Venture provides a variety of residential options to meet the individuals unique needs.

 

Venture Homeshare
The Home Share network offers alternatives to staffed residential homes by providing individuals an opportunity to live within their community the non-related families.
Adult Community Living
24 hour, 7 day a week residential support is provided to residents in three group homes located in Vernon

 

 

 

Skill Development

Venture Training offers a number of programs aimed at developing a wide range of skills among the participants. These programs are include community and individual based activity.

 

Community Connections
Participants enjoy community based social and recreational activities such as pool, darts, hikes and tours in the community.
Lifeskills Outreach
Participants are provided assistance in managing the aspects of every day life to maintain either independent or semi-independent lives.
Venture Uptown
Participants enjoy program and community based activities that focus on building individualized skills.

 

Armstrong Outreach
Participants enjoy program and community based activities that focus on building indiviualized skills
Accessing Community Training (ACT)
Individualized skill enhancement including areas of computers, literacy, finance and community.

 

 

Employment Programs

Individuals develop transferable skills in thereapeutic recycling programs and paid employment through community and program options.

 

Therapeutic E-Waste Program
Provides the public with a designated collection site to dispose of electronic items they no longer require and are considered 'end of life'.
Therapeutic Woodworking
Participants are provded with vocational and skill enhancement and training, through the production of lath, survey stakes and pallet repair.
Cycle/Cycle
In partnership with Vernon RCMP, particpants assist in retrieving stolen bicycles in and around Vernon. Bikes are either returned to owners, stripped for parts or sold.

 

Therapeutic Styrofoam Recycling
Participants reduce styrofoam in partnership with local government and businesses.
The Place
Participants prepare lunches for a number of School District No 22's elementary schools. Participants assist in all aspects, from shopping and preparation to delivery.
Community Employment Outreach
An employment initiative designed to assist participants to gain employment in Vernon and the surrounding area. Participants are coached to help them achieve the demands of competitve community employment.

 

Venture Bottle Depot
Participants assist customers in Lumby and surroung areas with their bottle returns.
